Malaria in Sahelian Region

70% of the world cases of Paludism are in subtropical Africa.

The saheliane area retained within the framework of ACCIES project is an unstable zone of Paludism (hypoendemic) with :
- not of collective immunity
- morbidity at any age ; resistance ++ (consommation of anti paludic)).

One can oppose it to the tropical rural regions which are zones of stable Paludism (hyper and holoendemic) with :
- collective immunity
- infantile morbidity ++

The two zones of study in Africa sahélienne are :

- Ferlo, Région de St Louis, Sénégal (1) ;

- Barikodiaga, Région de Mopti, Mali (2)
